Here's something that promises to be very interesting. The U of O and the Kenneth McConnell Program are sponsoring this year's 2006 O’Connell Bench and Bar Symposium, entitled "Disentangling Church and State: Have the Courts Done Enough?" The keynote speaker is Duke Law School Professor Edwin Chemerinsky, and the panelists include Ninth Circuit Judge John Noonan, Oregon Court of Appeals Judge David Schuman, Willamette Law Professor Steve Green, UW Law Professor Clark Lombardi, and our notable colleagues Kelly Clark and Charlie Hinkle. The Moderator is U of O Law Professor Tom Lininger. The Symposium is from 8:30 a.m. to noon, on March 24, 2006, at the World Trade Center in Portland. Admission is free.
